The Parable of the Wolf

The Healing Touch

A wolf was roaming the lands surrounding the town of Bethlehem. Throughout the year, shepherds were on the lookout every night with their dogs and torches, to guard the sheep from this wolf. However, one night they saw a brilliant star shinning above Bethlehem and all of them went to bring gifts to this new born baby they’ve just heard about.

The wolf sneaked through the shadows, creeped through the dark, and crawled behind the shepherds to the manger where the baby was sleeping. The shepherds bowed in front of the child, raised their hands in praise, sang prayers for grace, and returned to their sheep. The two parents have had a long and difficult journey to reach this manger, and fell asleep in a corner, on a pile of hay.

The wolf crawled from the shadows to the baby, growling and snarling and drooling over his gentle little body. He opened his mouth to attack the child, but in that moment the baby’s hand touched the ugly, wiry, dirty fur of the animal.

People had always cast stones at him, cursed and chased him with clubs and torches, thrown stones at him, but nobody had ever touched his fur. The child stroke the wolf’s snout, looked at him and giggled with love. All of a sudden, the wolf’s skin cracked, ruptured and fell on the floor, and out came a man. A human being – naked, trembling, shivering in cold, and crying tears of joy. Nobody had ever looked at him with love, nobody had ever touched him, and nobody had ever seen him before for who he really was. This baby boy had set him free.

You are precious to God. Will you reach out and touch Jesus Christ?

When The Moment Arrives

When The Moment Arrives

Do you remember the first day of school, when your mom and dad gave you the new uniform, the shiny shoes and a little lunch box with fresh food made that morning?

The mystery of your relationship with our Heavenly Father is mirrored in your relationship with your children.

For the first 5-6 years of your life, you never asked nor worried about your school uniform, the shoes you will wear or the lunch box for the first day of school. Probably you didn’t even know you needed them before school started and you did get them.

Your parents knew you needed them, and when the moment arrived, you received them. You didn’t get them before or after, but when the moment of need arrived.

You might understand now what our Heavenly Father meant when He said: “I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers.” Jesus reaffirmed this message when He said: “Your Father knows you need all these even before you even ask Him.”

Do not worry about the future. There is perfect peace in this moment.
Do not worry.

Today only remember and trust your Heavenly parent, the One who breathed life into your body and spirit. He will give you all you need. When the moment arrives.

Before Everything Else

Before Everything Else

The greatest mystery in this Universe: the relationship between us and God – is revealed on Earth in the simplest and most beautiful way: our relationship with our own children.

Do you know that “Even before He made the world, God loved you?”
You may say “That’s nice” but not really grasp the deep meaning and full revelation of this truth. Think with me.

I don’t have kids, but when I think of having my own children in the future, right now, years before they are conceived and born, I love them with my life and heart. Before I prepare their bedroom and their toys, I love them. In the same way God loves you. Before He made the world and anything else for you, He loved you.

Just as you love your children for life, God loves you for eternity. I love Him back.

What the Woman Saw

What the Woman Saw

One year after my honest-to-God conversation in Hawaii, I felt in my heart to go and get baptised in water. During this time I grew to love God, to trust Him more and I’ve noticed He always answers my prayers when they come from my heart, in spirit in and in truth. God doesn’t listen to our emotions or our mental noise, but to our cries from spirit. My prayer for the whole year had been “I want to know You more.” I pondered for a while about the idea of getting baptised but I didn’t listen and just ignored the thought. Time passed and the nudge in my heart to get baptised was still there and kept growing. I didn’t listen. I went to work every day, wrote for my books every day and life was going as usual. One afternoon, a friend from the other side of the world with whom I haven’t spoken in a while sent me a message out of the blue saying: “God wants you baptised in water. What are you waiting for? Go.” I called her to ask how she knew that and she told me she just did. We talked for a few minutes and before we hung up the phone she said one more time: “God wants you baptised in water. Go do it.”

The following Sunday I was sitting on the edge of the swimming pool. In front of me the minister – a man from New Zealand filled with passion and love for God – immersed a young woman in water and then called me to step in. I didn’t know why I was doing this, but I’ve learned over the years to trust God and do His will even when I don’t understand it. I whispered without moving my lips: “Jesus I die with You, so I live with You.” The minister raised his right hand: “I baptise you the name of the Father, the Son and of the Holy Spirit” – and I went under water. A second later I was outside the pool again, surrounded by strangers clapping and laughing. A man from Africa laid his hands on me and started praying a long prayer. I closed my eyes trying to focus on his words, but I couldn’t. I was thinking only of what happened when Jesus got baptised by John and the Spirit of God came upon Him as a dove. “How cool it would be to have a dove coming over me as well” I giggled with my eyes still closed. The man from Africa kept praying for me with many words and good wishes, and I kept not listening to him but thinking of the dove. “Let me look to see if there’s any dove above me” I thought and I opened my eyes for a second. I looked up and saw nothing except the ceiling of the swimming hall. “I guess that’s only for Jesus” I raised my shoulders with a little sadness, and closed my eyes again. A minute later people clapped their hands, we hugged each other and everybody left home.

I stayed behind to put my winter clothes on and walked out in the street, when an elderly woman whom I’ve never met before approached me.

“What a beautiful ceremony!” she said. “My name is Manawa. I was watching you and the sweet young woman who got baptised.”

“You come to our church?” I asked her. “It’s my second time here, I don’t know anyone.”

“Every Sunday. This baptism ceremony was special – very special. The presence of the Lord was abundant upon us. When the young woman came out of the water I saw a honey comb above her. Golden honey flowed in her soul from above.”

“I love this church, it’s full of Life” I said to her.

“But I want to ask you something” she interrupted. “During your baptism at one moment you opened your eyes and looked up. What did you see?”

“Nothing” I smiled trying to hide my naivety. “I was thinking of something and I just opened my eyes, but I saw nothing. Just the ceiling.”

“The moment you looked up” she put her hand on my shoulder “I saw a brilliant white dove shinning above you. I was so surprised to see it, but it was magnificent – a pure dove of light flapping its wings above you. Just like the dove that came upon Jesus after He was baptised by John.” It only appeared when you opened your eyes and looked up, and disappeared when you closed them a second later. I thought you saw it too when you opened your eyes.”

I stayed silent for a while.

“Thank you” I eventually said before she hopped on the bus. “Thank you. You have no idea how much this means to me.”

When you love God with all your heart, He answers you will all His heart and fulfils your dreams in unexpected and uncommon ways.

We can never take miracles for granted because when miracles happen we realize we find ourselves in the presence of God. Sometimes we share these miracles with strangers.

And there is nothing more precious that to know you are truly loved with a wild and divine love, just as you are.

I love you,

Words of Life

Words to Heal You, Words to Give You Life

Traveling the world opened my eyes to the grace of God upon my life. Every time I stepped into the darkness of the unknown, not knowing what will happen tomorrow, God stepped in and unfolded miracles before my eyes. With time I started to trust God more and rely less on myself.

But things haven’t always been this way. I’ve crawled through depression for a few years and envy disfigured my being. I suppressed my anger and turned it against me. I’ve hurt people I didn’t want to hurt, abandoned friends and brought tears in the eyes of dear ones. As guilt deepened and the darkness within grew darker, I tried psychological techniques and meditations but nothing worked. I was crumbling under my pain, when one morning in Hawaii, with the first rays of the sun rising from the ocean, I closed my eyes and prayed for the first time in sincerity and truth:

“God, I do not know You but I want to.
Some people say I have sins that will never be forgiven.
Some say I cannot come before You as dirty as I am.
Some say You don’t even exist. Here’s what I say, Father.

You know my past, You know my mistakes, You know my fear and my pain.
I do not know Your plans for me. I cannot change the past and what I’ve done wrong.
When the time comes, You decide what You do with me because You hold the power over all things.

However, Father, there is one thing that is not in Your power to do, but in mine.
In this moment I have made a decision and there’s nothing You can do about it.
The choice for me to love You is not Yours. The choice for me to love You with all my heart is mine.

From today and in every moment, I come before You just as I am,
Naked, broken, hurt and lost,
With nothing in my hands to give You,
I come before You giving You my love.

I come before You Father, not to ask and take,
But to love You more each day and give.
What is on Your mind?
What is on Your heart?
I am not a beggar, I am Your servant and Your son.
I ask for nothing,
but just to do Your will.

Although I am grateful for your miracles and gifts,
Today I seek not the gifts, but I seek You – the giver of all gifts.
I love not what You give me, Father,
but I love You, the one who’s always given me.”

Prayer is not a technique. True prayer doesn’t require a special breathing methodology or a difficult sitting position. Prayer is you talking to God in spirit and in truth. This conversation I had with God early before dawn changed my life. As I walked out of my room, peace flooded my soul. My mind found rest for the first time in years, and my broken heart was gently made whole. I understood for the first time Heaven is reached with empty hands and open hearts.
