The Jailer and The Prisoner

What do you see when you look at a prison house from high above? There are brick walls, and iron gates and metal doors dividing the prison building into two: on one side are the guards and on the other the condemned.

The guards seem free and the inmates seem locked up, but in reality they live together in the same dark world. Neither can be free at will unless the other will escape as well. The jailer is not free because he spends day after day in the same place keeping his eyes on the condemned. When you look at a prison from above you truly realise the jailer and the prisoner share the same bleak world.

This is what Jesus Christ meant when he said: “Judge not and you will not be judged, for with the same judgement that you judge you will be judged.” You cannot be free in truth unless you give forgiveness unto all. When you deny forgiveness, your anger and resentment slam the prison door with you in chains on the inside. You might think that you judge and the other is condemned, but in reality you share the same dark and hurtful world.

Who must you forgive today?
Forgive and walk out into freedom.

Dr. Dragos
