The Forgotten Meaning of Christmas

The Forgotten Meaning of Christmas

Today Christmas is about gifts, warm wishes, family dinners, surprises under the Christmas tree, Santa Claus and happy children unwrapping presents.

But Christmas is about something that most of us might have forgotten.

Many years ago, when the world was slogging through the darkness, when people lived by the dead-law of the books and scrolls, without mercy and forgiveness for each other because they have forgotten who they really were, Love itself was born.

When people have forgotten the holy light that shined in their minds, Love itself came to remind them that they are its holy children, and that nothing is worthy of them but Love, everlasting joy and serenity.

Christmas is literally the day when Love came down from Heaven .

It has been calling us ever since to return back home to our Heavenly Family, with all our brothers and sisters. We are the holy children of Love, unwrapping since the first Christmas, the holy gifts of the Divine for us.

Without the infinite love of Jesus Christ for us, we would still be slogging through darkness. All the armies of the world could not do what Jesus did through Love. Because Love is something you do, and something you give.

We may be far apart in the world, but I am very close in my heart to you, and the only true gift I want to give you is my gratitude for who you are, and my love for you, simply because you deserve only love.

I wish you the Merriest Christmas ever, filled with an abundance of peace, divine joy and infinite health, and wish you another 100 happy years lived in Love.

You Are Your Father’s Treasure

You Are Your Father’s Treasure

“Do you remember the story of the prodigal son?” asked my grandfather and put down the book he was reading. “The son of a rich, generous, and loving father had left home and roamed aimlessly for many years. He squandered his part of the father’s fortune on worthless pleasures and distractions. The young man didn’t know at the time that what he was doing didn’t have any value and that he was falling deeper into misery. He was ashamed to return home because he believed he had wasted his father’s fortune. When he eventually returned home, his father took him in his loving arms and gave him everything.”

“I’ve heard the parable many times, grandpa” I said. “God forgives us for the wrong we’ve done, that’s the meaning of the story.”

“The true meaning of the parable is that the son himself was the father’s treasure. The father wanted nothing else but his son, and nothing had any real value to the father but his son. The son couldn’t squander the father’s fortune because the son himself was the father’s fortune. What he did with the father’s gifts didn’t matter, because what the father loved was his son.

You, my child, are the treasure of the Father in Heaven, and when you decide to return home, to return to love, to return to God, you will be always welcomed because your Father in Heaven wants nothing else but you.”

The Message on the Bulletin Board

The Secret Message on the Bulletin Board

On a Friday evening I was walking home from my office and I stopped in front of a small church in the city square. The face of a friend was smiling from the bulletin board. He was holding a concert there that evening. Next to his poster, I saw this letter from God to man. This letter was for myself, as well as for all of us who want to dedicate our life to love, in its many shapes and forms. I hope it will bring you peace.

“I know your suffering. I know your inner conflicts, your struggles and your pain. I know the sickness of your body, the doubts in your mind and the fears in your heart. I know your weaknesses and your mistakes, and in spite of all I still ask you: give me your heart.

Love me just the way you are.

If you wait until you become holy to love me, you will never love me. No matter how many mistakes you think you’ve done, I still ask you to love me.

Love me just the way you are.

In any situation and in any circumstance, trustful or doubtful, love me just the way you are. If you wait until you don’t make mistakes, you will never love me.

My dear son, I love you just the way you are. Love me in return just the way you are.

With time, I will gently transform your fear into love and your struggles into peace. But for now, love me just the way you are. My will is to see love rising even from the darkest corners. I don’t need your knowledge, your talent nor your virtues. I only care about your love. Put love in everything you do. You think you are not worthy, you think you are not enough, you think you are not loved, and in spite of that, here I stand at the door of your heart, the Creator of the Universe, begging you to let me in. Open up and do not prolong your pain. Think of me in every moment of every hour and put love in everything you do. Whatever happens, love me now, otherwise you will never love me.

I love you now just the way you are. Will you love me just the way you are?”

Neuroscience Shows How Following Your Passion Makes You Happy

Neuroscience Shows How Following Your Passion Makes You Happy

The new discoveries of neuroscience now reveal that following your passion and doing what you love does in fact make you happier and stronger both mentally and emotionally, and not from a philosophical but rather a chemical point of view. This is a long article, but it is worth reading all the way.

PASSION TAKES LONG-TERM COMMITMENT

to explore, discover, experiment and grow in a specific domain of interest. When you are driven by passion, you want to expand your performance beyond your actual limits. To accomplish this, there are two important drivers:

EXPLORE – Seeking new challenges, engaging in critical and creative thinking, intense ideation sessions, problem-solving and developing new skills to make progress in a challenging environment.
CONNECT – Bonding with like-minded people who share a similar passion, developing deep and trust-based relationships with smart people who might have insights that help you with your passion.

When you set out to EXPLORE, you CONNECT with people and forge more trust-based relationships. When you CONNECT, those strong bonds empower you to EXPLORE more challenging ideas together.

Here’s where neuroscience comes in:

The brain’s two most powerful neurotransmitters – dopamine and oxytocin – are directly connected, they reward and reinforce the EXPLORATION and CONNECTION required in pursuit of passions. How it works:

DOPAMINE: When we EXPLORE and undertake difficult challenges, our brain releases dopamine which gives us a sense of pleasure and increases our motivation to pursue the anticipated reward. Dopamine drives our passion to EXPLORE, and is more associated with the anticipation of reward rather than the actual reward. Dopamine excites and keeps us going on the long road of our passion.
OXYTOCIN: When we CONNECT with other like-minded people through all sorts of social interactions, our brain releases oxytocin which gives us a calming, soothing feeling. People with higher levels of oxytocin are more trusting, empathetic and generous. In return these behaviours reinforce the release of oxytocin which strengthens the human connection even more.
Here’s the incredible circle that forms when we follow our passion in life:

Passion provides the spark for you to focus on what you love to EXPLORE
DOPAMINE rapidly kicks in to sustain your focus over long periods of time and during increasingly challenging tasks, actions and goals that are in the service of your passion.
Passion provides the spark for you to focus and look to CONNECT with other people who share your passion, and work together to reach success faster.
OXYTOCIN provides rewarding feelings of trust, generosity and deep human connection as people come together driven by a shared passion.
Neurones That Fire Together, Wire Together

The brain over time evolves its patterns. As these two neurotransmitters are released more often in your brain, the brain becomes more adapted to pursuing your passion more and more effectively. Your passion literally changes your brain and then your brain makes you more efficient to pursue your passion and get positive results faster.

Without passion to provide the sustained focus required by our dreams, and to generate the dopamine and oxytocin to drive and reward our passion, we will have an almost impossible task to be happy and draw meaning and fulfilment from our work.
