Deception

“For years you have lied to yourself and your girl about your relationship. You’ve kept many things hidden from her and you believed you were lying in an act of love, to protect her from knowing the truth of what you were doing behind her back. To love is to communicate, and you can communicate only in truth, which means you can love only in truth. But you preferred to hide from her, and you’ve injured yourself in the worst possible way. You’ve lied to yourself also, and that’s why you ended up in desperation and depression” said the Soul Mechanic.

“I lied because I loved her. To protect her from suffering” I said and dropped my head in my palms. I couldn’t look him in the eyes.

“You’re confused, kid. You were tormented by your lies and you believed you were doing a noble act of love, when in fact you performed the greatest charade of fear. To love is to communicate and to share everything from your heart. To tell your truth, and tell it with love. Hidden thoughts are the consequence of fear, and the greater the lie, the greater the fear. You chose to have secrets from her, not because you loved but because you feared to look at what you’ve done. Never make decisions from fear, because they will always drag you in desperation and pain. As you can see, of course, by looking at your life now. When you decided to have your own secret thoughts, you shattered communication between the two of you, and worse, you broke off communication with your soul. Lies imprison you and depression is always the consequence, because your soul – your self – is ignored and cut off from your life. Your soul is screaming from the cage you put it into and you are not listening.

Be vigilant against deception, for your own wellbeing. Speak the truth, and speak it with love.
